heck yes!

I just finished my first semester of grad school.

Heck yes!
I am awesome. I was worried for a while that i wouldnt be able to do it.
But i did.
yay me!

Here you go Mal and Bri. These are the most recent pictures I have. They're from Halloweenish. I've gotten bigger since then but here you go to hold you over until i upload more picture. See, I really am pregnant.
Wheeler Farm.
Emily's senior night.
State tournament.

yes, its true. This was our last state tournament. Emily is a senior. So sad. No more bhs volleyball games.
She did so awesome! They took 8th but Emily is a rockstar and the star of her team. She got MVP on her team and she is just a stud.
Love you Em. Great job!

boy-girl party. (and nacho).

Flyers have been put on desks and my kids are so excited for a boy-girl party that is going down tomorrow night. Some convos I've overheard...
"Boy-girl party!?!? AGH!! I am SOOOO going!!!"
"OMG I wonder if you know who) is going to go!"
Don't worry-I'm invited too.
"Mrs Phillips - you should come and we can just listen to Justin Bieber the whole time."
REALLY?!?! I swear I act professional. I don't know why she would say that. Honest.
Funny kids. Funny that I was invited to a boy girl party. And weird. Mostly weird.

I remember my first boy girl party. I was in 6th grade. I would flirt with all the boys except for the one that was my "boyfriend" at the time. I was too shy to talk to him. So he broke up with me. Good times.

Speaking of stretchy pants - I bought some. Maternity pants. They are stretchy. I kept putting it off. I'm proud that I made it to my third trimester without them, but now that I have them....
I LOVE THEM!
I love stretchy pants. Like nacho. Just for fun.

Now that I think about it, I really feel like nacho. I feel like my butt is growing just as big as my tummy is. Needless to say, I've been feeling pretty attractive lately.

11.11.11

I kind of have been crying all morning.
Maybe its just the hormones.

Maybe its because I've been teaching about the world wars and the war in Iraq at school
Maybe its because I've been watching Friday Night Lights

I cant remember a Veteran's Day ever before but today is different. It seems closer to my heart. I am so grateful for all the men and women who put everything on the line to serve our country.

I'm proud to be an American.

I cant say THANK YOU enough or with as much feeling as I feel in my heart.

THANK YOU.
God bless you and your families forever.

gratitude

every friday i have my students write in their journals about things or a thing that they are grateful for. i think that this helps them realize how much they have and how much to be grateful for.

i decided to do it today too. on my blog.

speaking of my blog, i read through a bunch of my old posts. i was such a cuter blogger before i got married and boring. i'm sorry. i'll try and be cute again.

I'm grateful.

for my cute apt.
that my baby is healthy and the pregnancy has gone so well
that i'm not nauseous
music that puts me in a good mood
my supporting and loving husband that always makes my dinner for me and rubs my back and feet when i'm sore
my students when they are nice to me and try hard and make me laugh and are not annoying
pumpkin spice candles that fragrant my apt
my bed
that i'm having a baby
my job
eric's job
that we live so close to family and friends
all my family and friends that ask how i'm doing
my sisters
my nephews
my niece
for my car
that i was able to go to europe with my papa
my clothes
the church
good food

before i was pregnant....

  • i didn't have acne
  • i could sleep through the night
  • i didn't have to pee every hour
  • i was a fun teacher
  • i had energy and motivation to be an extraordinary teacher
  • i didn't have back pain (what is that even like?)
  • i couldn't eat whatever i wanted
  • i couldn't feel a baby kicking and moving inside me (i love it)
  • i weighed a lot less
  • i could fit in my clothes
  • i could actually get comfortable sometimes
  • i had energy to work out

its rough on the bod but i LOVE having my baby inside me and we
couldn't be more excited to have
a little addition to our little fam.
