So, Monday was my due date. Tuesday morning we went into the hospital for a stress test. They noticed that with about every third contraction baby's heartbeat was decreasing when it was supposed to be increasing.
They told us that instead of taking the risk that they were just going to induce me that night and that they would call us later for details.

We went out to breakfast, took naps, hung out with cha and ky, and waited patiently for their phone call. Still no phone call. We went out on a valentine's date to in n' out and went to see The Vow. During the movie they called and asked us to come in to the hospital. I told them that we were in a movie and we'd be there when it ended. After the movie we went home and packed and exchanged valentine's day presents and then left for the hospital.

We got to the hospital at around 9:30 and got changed and in bed and they gave me a pill that dissolves in my mouth that helps start labor. They had to give me one every three hours so they woke up me in the middle of the night. They woke me up at 4:30 and gave me another one. Right after I took that one I started having bad contractions and then my water broke. The nurse said I could have an epidural anytime so I had her give it to me right away. After that, life was great. I was in and out of sleep all day and honestly, could've spent more time in labor than I did. It was that great. They gave me pitocin but had to slow it down after about an hour because of the little guys heart and how it would slow down with every contraction. At about 2:45 they started having me push and he came out at 3:06. He was such a great baby. :)

How cute is this picture? I love my boys!!!

He is SUCH a great baby. He eats and sleeps like a champ and is as healthy as can be. We are absolutely OBSESSED with this kid and cannot get enough of him. Being a mom is just the best. Ever.
Happy one week birthday Owen!

Honestly, this week would have been SO much harder if it weren't for my amazing husband. He has been so helpful and supportive of me and our son. Recovering from delivery is harder than the delivery itself and I'm so grateful for such a selfless, thoughtful, and remarkable husband.

I love our little family.

  4. Congrats Gini! He is just beautiful! I'm so happy things went well. Contractions are awful, but aren't epidurals the best thing ever invented?!
