Barnsongen

There is a church across the street from our apartment.
Here's the view from our apartment.  See it?
Every Tuesday morning they host what they call a "barnsongen" (children's song).  We go over and they have a giant playroom with a play kitchen, a reading nook, tons of animals, legos galore, cars, trains, and anything else you can imagine.  Kids just go crazy and make messes but its so fun! Its so fun for us to get out and let Owen play with new toys and new kids and make a mess without me having to clean it.

We play for a little bit and then all the kids gather in the room next door and sit in a circle and we sing swedish songs.  I'm learning them.  slowly but surely.  I have no idea the words they're actually saying I will just sometimes mumble sounds.  Yea, I know.  I'm pretty awesome.  Owen's favorite song is about a grasshopper because everyone throws their kids up in the air during the song and he thinks its hilarious.

After singing time we eat lunch together (kids eat free) and then we play some more! Owen loves it and he especially loves going with his friend Emelina. Which is great because then I have a friend too.
Just playing the drums with some utensils. Or just eating them.
Playing with Emelina.
Singing time.
They were kissing through the plastic window but this random little boy ruined the picture.

Sometimes

Sometimes when you live in a foreign country and you're home all day with your baby you need to set goals to help you feel productive and useful.
Sometimes it can be hard because life is so different from when I was in Utah working full time, being a full time grad student, being a mom, working 2 church callings (obviously we don't have callings because we don't speak Swedish), and having friends and family around.
Sometimes its good for me to make goals.

My goals for today:
     1. Work out with Jillian Michaels
2. Shower and get dressed
3.  Make dinner
4.  Learn all the words to "Super Bass"

Wish me luck.

Mondays

Well, I know my Mother-in-law reads and appreciates my posts so I'll keep posting. At least someone is reading them.

Monday nights are our laundry nights. I was so worried about not having a washer and dryer in my home (first world problems) but it honestly hasn't been that bad.

In our apartment complex you have to sign up for a day and time to use the laundry room.  There are two spaces available for each time.  We TRY to do Monday nights from 5-10.  Sometimes we get it, and sometimes we don't.

We bundle up all our laundry and put them in our giant IKEA bags and haul them down to level -1, through the garage, past all the storage units and into the laundry room.
Each "group" has two small washers, one dryer and a drying room.  Owen loves feeling them when they're spinning.  Its hard because all the machines are in Swedish so after using the google translate app on our phones for the first few weeks we can finally do it all by ourselves!

Behind Owen you can see the drying room.  Its a good size room that has clothes lines from one end of the room to the other with hangers on it.  Its actually really nice.  We hang up our clothes, sheets, etc and turn on the fans and they get dry.  Its really cool actually.

We come down about every hour or so to change it around and because we have to do our laundry all at once we have about 5+ loads.

Its a good time.

honeymoon numero tres

dubrovnik, croatia
The thing about living in Europe is, you can always find SWEET deals for inner-europe weekend getaways so we decided to take advantage of a cheap get-a-way and get away from the cold for our 2nd year anniversary.  Its crazy to think we've only been married 2 years.  It just seems like I've been with the MR forever.  We have so much.

it was honestly one of the best, if not THE best, weekends of my life.  Not to mention it was so nice to get away from the cold and get to go outside and not worry about bundling up! It got a little cold and a little windy but it was WAY nicer than Lulea so we enjoyed every second of it. It was so fun to just chill and we just have so much fun together.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but it was one of the coolest cities I've ever been to.  Put it on your wanderlist.

There is a huge wall surrounding Old Town (built like a thousand years ago) and we got to go walk on it around the whole city! It was WAY cool!
You can see the wall we climbed on.  View from the wall.
Just looking up some history on his phone.  We like to learn.
It was so windy on the wall.  I thought I was going to blow over.
Got a little wet
My hot man
Thats our hotel.  The oldest hotel in Dubrovnik.
He loves me.
Our view from our hotel room balcony
Now THAT is a plate of fish.  We ate so much fish.
View from the top
We went walking on the beach at sunset and Eric slipped my ring off my finger dropped to a knee and proposed.  Everyone watched and some guy even took pictures.   He's so romantic.
SO sad to leave.
At first I was REALLY sad and nervous to leave Owen. I thought he was going to be sad and miss me so much.
As you can tell, he was very well taken care of.  And actually didn't want to come home with us.  :(
We better be careful who we leave him with next time...
These girls are all over him.
