Friday - Gammelstad
Gammelstad is a cute little town and Luluea's oldest town. There's a huge church that was built in the 1400's (I think) and surrounding it is 408 cottages where people would come from all of Norbotton (Northern Sweden) to come to church and stay for a week or two. Ok I really don't know what I'm talking about but I think thats the gist. Now there are shops and cute cafe's all around it and even a little "wheeler farm" type of thing.
SPOILER ALERT: We also went there when House Hunters was filming us and we pretty much just made crap up because we really didn't know any of the history.
Saturday - Storforsen
Storforsen is about an hour away and it was totally crappy weather but it was WAY cool. I really wasn't expecting it to be that cool. Wikipedia says its one of the biggest rapids in Europe (although Swedes don't say they're European, they're Scandinavian). There was a path that led up and around the rapids and back down but we turned around early because it started to pour.
On the way. Owen is saying "CARS". (And watching it) |
Its such a beautiful place to just drive through! |
The reindeer we saw on the side of the road. I ate one of them for dinner the other day. |
Look for "SHISH" (fish) |
Before the rain! |

I love being tourists and I love being on such a fun adventure with my boys!
