opinions please

so yesterday my friend said, "owen should be a baby gap model.  he is so cute."

i relied by saying, "awww thank you."

she responded by saying, "um... i was complimenting owen.  not you."

which is true.
so what do you think?

when someone tells you that your baby (or child) is cute what are you supposed to say?
what do YOU say?

Thank you?

I know, right?

I think so too?

I just don't know.
What do I say?
I have to admit though, he is really stinkin cute!

  1. That's a really weird response on her part. I'd say 'thank you.' Or I'd bend down to Owen and say, "Owen, say 'thank you.'" It's stupid since babies can't talk, but I've done it a lot for Gray. Now, at least, he can say "thank you."

  2. I always say thank you, after all our kids have our genes and they're babies, they can't talk yet. Some times i'll add the ''We sure think so'' after saying thanks.

  3. Agreed, I usually say thank you. (You did make him, just fyi, you definitely get the credit) But if it's someone like family or good friends, I usually say "we think so" too. And yes, he is really really cute!

  4. I love that Owen looks like he was experiencing 6 different emotions in a small frame of time.
